a boat trip on the River Thames
from Westminster Pier to Greenwich Pier
as we passed by
the Shard, the Gherkin, London city hall, tower bridge
and many green trees and flowers,
low-lying monster clouds flew overhead
I looked at the ever-changing clouds
filling with psychedelic lights,
a grey airplane flew through the clouds
and left its dark shadow
A seagull stood above the window
walk and walk on,
its shadow became
bigger, smaller, longer, shorter,
until the seagull flew away
to the blue sky
Greenwich
you are a mysterious symbol
a symbol of time
Greenwich Mean Time
we were on two sides of
the Prime meridian line
so near yet so far
so far yet so near
standing in front of the huge astronomical telescope,
imaging the first time when human watched the moonscape,
remember what Arbelt Einstein said,
“a human being is a part of the whole called by us universe:
a part limited in time and space.
He experiences himself, his thoughts, and his feelings
as something separate from the rest-
a kind of optical delusion of consciousness.”
The sound of ship horns came from the sea
whoever roled the waves roled the world
“the company united the character of Sovereign and merchant,
exercising the power of the first,
for the benefit of the second.”
Yet in the market of Deptford
children stood staring longingly at worn-out toys
