the Persian Princess in SHAKUNTALA

This painting is based on the story of Shakuntala and the form of Koodiyattam.

Shakuntala is the world famous Sanskrit play by Kalidasa, and the story is from the epic Mahabharata.

Koodiyattam is the only surviving ancient Sanskrit drama theatre, which is recognized by UNESCO as cultural heritage.
