Caged Bird
by Maya Angelou
The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.
I’m in a cage, someone put me in a cage, that person is me. Only I myself could put me in a cage and stop me singing and flying, not anyone else. Could you please break up the cage?
That’s why I chose this poem and did this painting.
