the Persian Princess in HOME

IMG_9992

Living in a single parent family without sisters and brothers( due to one child policy in China) made me doubt what does home mean?

With this question, I run an art workshop for 80 slum kids in Manila to ask them to paint about their understanding of home.

They painted family members in heart and told me that “home is where the family is”, they painted healthy food and clean water, children and flowers, and faith and help, some kids also use dark colours because their home is small and dark and no food, they feel unhappy at home.

After collecting all paintings from slum kids, I painted the Persian Princess at Home, it was these kids who event didn’t have a nice house told me that home is not about the house, home is about love.

You may read the story of art workshop here.
